I'm now back from England-land and things couldn't be more crazy. I've gone to Vegas, got lost in the desert and broke my car a million miles from home.
On a lighter note, I'm about to move into my nice new apartment with fireplace capable of roasting smores.
Day One- June 27th
We (Dan and I) left Ames to head down to Kansas City, Missouri to meet up with Melissa Dorsey to go to Worlds of Fun. Of course, 45 minutes into the drive I get tired and English-man had to take over driving. As nervous as I was, the desire to sleep outweighed any rational fear of the man-who-drives-on-the-other-side-of-the-road crashing my car.
Missouri, to Dan's dismay, was just like Iowa. I think he expected the states to radically change immediately after crossing the state line. Like some jump into multiple different Narnias. That was the first disappointment of this trip.
Worlds of Fun was, well, fun. I road my first inverted roller coaster (the Patriot) and got my adrenaline going. 3492387042 roller coaster rides later, we all had minor concussions from lack of water and head trauma.
We ate at some spicy BBQ place which would have been good if I actually liked spicy food. My mouth was on fire the entire time but I didn't complain since I didn't have to pay for it.
I know, day one seems kind of boring but, if all the excitement happened the first day, this wouldn't be an interesting series.
On that note, stay tuned for Day Two, releasing tomorrow. Or whenever I get around to writing it.
I don't have any pictures for the first day as we didn't take our cameras into the park. So, I will leave you with an awesome video to help get your drink on.
