Appreciation

Life is full of beauty. Notice it.

Taking photos on the beach in St. Ives
It's awe inspiring. The ability to possess so much beauty and serenity even in the dead of winter... is absolutely astounding.

All of the coastal paths were muddy and sinking from the rain and trudging of multiple people down them. Fortunately there was no one around when we got there. Large shards of rocks speckled the coastline and an open stone building, sunken into its foundation, sat on the edge of the land. The water seemed to stretch on forever. We drove around the beaches and stood in the sand and watched the ships float on through the bay and ran away from the water as waves progressively made their way up the shore. It was nice to feel completely carefree for an afternoon.

Many dogs were playing in the water that day.
I realized through this minor adventure not only how beautiful Cornwall is, but how much is here to appreciate. I could never ask for more with my life right now. I'm in a point where I have never been so secure on what I want to do with my future and I've been given all these opportunities to accomplish my goals.

Ultimately, I'm glad I don't live here. It's a place that I wouldn't ever want to get accustomed to, to take for granted. It seems when you only truly appreciate life, it opens something up inside. I feel like I can live my life more fully and grow from finding new depths to what is around me.

Coast going through town.
Life's about friendships and appreciating memories. Yesterday we took the train up to St. Ives and again, even in the winter, it had a magical feel about it. Everywhere here is in such close proximity to the sea and there's something about it that's calming. I have wonderful roommates (so far :D) and right away it's felt like we've been friends for a long time. It's making the adjustment factor essentially nonexistent because they've made me feel welcome and beyond all the yank jokes and sarcasm, I feel like I'm in a good place, in good company.
